To get the best, long-lasting and cleanest burning experience with your NAVABELLA Soy Candle, here are a few things you should do before lighting your candle:

  • Burn within sight. Keep the candle away from flammable objects, drafts, breezes, children, and pets.

  • Discard foreign materials. Keep the candle free of any foreign materials including matches and wick trimmings.

  • Keep on a level surface. Only burn the candle on a level, fire-resistant surface.

  • Do not move the melted candle. Leave the melted candle in place until it cools and solidifies completely.

  • Trim the wick to 1/8". Contrary to popular belief, a longer wick does not perform better. Keep your wick trimmed to approximately 1/8" before lighting. If you don't have a wick trimmer, you can use a large pair of nail trimmers.

  • Burn the candle to the edge of the container. Allow the candle to burn until the wax pool (melted wax) reaches the edge of the candle container. During this phase, the candle's flame may appear to flicker very low, which is normal. Allow the wick to continually heat the wax until it reaches the diameter of the container. This process may take approximately 3 - 4 hours.

  • Extinguish after 4 hours. Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

  • Before relighting the candle. Allow the candle to cool and solidify completely. Remove the charred (blackened) wick by gently running your finger across the top of the wick. Discard the wick debris.
